Project 10 Complete
CI/CD + GitHub Actions
Built a secure CI/CD pipeline for my live portfolio website. GitHub Actions now deploys updates automatically to Amazon S3 and invalidates CloudFront after changes are pushed to the main branch. The pipeline uses GitHub OIDC and a least-privilege AWS IAM role instead of long-term AWS access keys.

Docker
Containerized a simple Python web application with Docker. Built a Docker image from a custom Dockerfile, ran the application as a container, mapped local ports, tested with curl, and cleaned up the container after validation.

API Gateway + Lambda
Exposed an existing AWS Lambda function through a public API Gateway HTTP endpoint using Terraform. Built a serverless API route, Lambda proxy integration, and invoke permission.

Lambda Serverless Function
Deployed a Python serverless function on AWS Lambda with a least-privilege IAM execution role. Packaged and deployed via Terraform. Invoked and verified via AWS CLI with live JSON response.

Route 53 Custom Domain
Migrated personal portfolio to a custom .dev domain using Route 53, CloudFront CDN, ACM SSL certificate, and S3 static hosting — all provisioned with Terraform. Zero downtime deployment.

Deployed a CloudFront CDN distribution in front of S3 static hosting with HTTPS enforcement, custom error pages, and Origin Access Control for secure S3 access.

EC2 Security Hardening
Rebuilt a basic EC2 web server into a production-style secured architecture. Deployed a private EC2 instance with no public IP, no SSH access, no .pem key, HTTPS through an Application Load Balancer, Route 53 DNS, ACM certificate validation, NAT Gateway for private outbound access, and security group chaining.

Provisioned an EC2 Ubuntu instance with Nginx web server, security groups, and SSH key pair — all with Terraform. Queried latest Ubuntu AMI dynamically from Canonical.

Background

About me

I'm a computer science student and US veteran based in Wisconsin, building hands-on cloud infrastructure skills from the ground up.

My focus is on AWS cloud infrastructure — deploying real, production-grade systems with Terraform rather than just studying theory. Every project I build is live and open source.

I'm actively working toward a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role, with a roadmap covering AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and observability tooling.

I believe the fastest path to expertise is building real things and documenting every decision along the way.
